That Holiday Pop
With the cool, fall weather, the ‘ohi‘a trees in the higher elevations of Mauna Kea are in their peak flowering season. The native i‘iwi bird is known to fly great distances each day from their forest dwellings, up the mountain to feed on the nectar of the fine-stemmed, bright red lehua blossoms. And who wouldn’t be attracted to the pop of color the lehua lends to the mountain’s volcanic landscape?
Our Makana subscribers will find these festive and brightly colored gift tags in their November Makanan. They will add a pop of color to any holiday gift.
